Cosmetic Packaging
This concept study explores how unconventional forms and aesthetics influence the visual appeal and shelf presence of cosmetic products. The work was developed as part of a six-week entrepreneurship project, where packaging design research supported the market, industry, and design strategy for a startup concept. Much of the research was conducted while I was living in France, drawing from European cosmetic packaging and retail environments.
A central focus of the project was sustainable packaging, specifically addressing the cosmetic industry’s heavy reliance on plastic and the issue of plastic leaching into products. The concept explored packaging systems that significantly reduce plastic use, with the goal that no plastic would come into contact with the product itself. By prioritizing material choice alongside form, the designs aimed to create packaging that feels elevated and functional while also standing as a visually compelling object on the shelf.
